Ontario Farmstand Bakery
Small Batches. Big Heart.
Started with too much butter, a free afternoon, and Ontario neighbours who wouldn't stop asking for more. We bake in small batches and show up where the community is.
Two soft, chewy oatmeal cookies hugging a cloud of vanilla cream filling. The item that started it all — and the reason people keep coming back. Made in small batches, always by hand, never compromised.
There wasn't one big moment that started all of this. No single recipe handed down, no dramatic turning point. It was more like a slow accumulation — the smell of something warm in the oven on a Saturday, the satisfying weight of a properly made thing, the look on someone's face when you hand them something homemade.
I grew up around food made with care. Not fancy food — honest food. The kind that doesn't need explaining. And somewhere along the way, I started making it myself.
It began the way it always does: baking for family, then for neighbours, then for whoever happened to be nearby when something came out of the oven. People started asking. Then asking again. Then asking if they could pay for it.
That's how The Wandering Oven was born — not from a business plan, but from a batch of Oatmeal Cream Pies that nobody wanted to stop eating.
I bake by feel as much as by recipe. I trust the old ways — the classics that have been around long enough to prove themselves — and I let Ontario's seasons tell me what comes next. Some things are on the menu all year. Others show up when the moment is right and disappear just as quickly.
It's just me in the kitchen. Small batches, made with intention, for people I want to feed well.
That's the whole story, really. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
